Why Timing Matters
Spraying too early wastes money; spraying too late means the disease or pest is already established. Align sprays with your tree's growth stage, not the calendar date — altitude shifts timing by 7–14 days.
Dormant Stage
Apply lime sulphur wash to control scale insects and fungal overwinter spores. This is the cheapest and most effective spray of the season.
Green Tip to Pink Bud
First scab spray: Mancozeb 75 WP at 2g/L. Add Chlorpyrifos 20 EC for woolly aphid control. Check for fire blight cankers and prune them out.
Full Bloom — Do NOT Spray
Never apply insecticides during bloom. Bees are essential pollinators. Wait until petal fall for the next spray.
Petal Fall to Fruit Set
Critical spray window. Apply Captan + Carbendazim. Add calcium nitrate foliar spray to prevent bitter pit.
Fruit Development
Continue 14-day fungicide rotation. Add potassium spray at marble and walnut stage for colour and sugar development.
