About This Disease
Bacterial Canker causes sunken, dark cankers on branches and trunks, often accompanied by gummosis. Young trees can be killed rapidly. Spread is favored by cool, wet weather.

How to Identify
- Sunken, dark brown to black cankers on branches. Gummosis at wound sites. Wilting and death of shoots. Brown discoloration of vascular tissue.
