How to Read Mountain Weather Before Spraying

Mountain weather changes fast. A clear morning can turn to rain by noon. This guide shows how to use the Baagicha weather forecast and simple field observations to pick the right spray window.

The Spray Window

Ideal conditions: wind below 15 km/h, relative humidity below 80%, no rain in the previous 6 hours or next 4 hours, temperature between 15°C and 30°C. These conditions are most common between 7AM and 11AM in most Himalayan locations.

Wind

Check wind direction, not just speed. Spray moving toward your neighbour's orchard is drift — it wastes your chemical and can damage their crops. Spray early morning when valley winds are still calm.

Humidity

High humidity (above 80%) means your spray droplets evaporate slowly and leaves stay wet longer — which paradoxically can encourage fungal disease. Check your phone weather app or the Baagicha weather page.

Rain Forecast

If rain is forecast within 4 hours of spraying, skip the application. Systemic fungicides need at least 2 hours to be absorbed; contact fungicides need 6 hours. A washed-off spray is wasted money.
