Late Dormancy

Trees still dormant. Best time for oil spray to kill scale and mite eggs under bark.
San Jose Scale

Overwinters under bark. HMO spray now is the most effective and safest control — before buds break.
European Red Mite

Overwintering eggs on bark near buds. Oil spray controls eggs before they hatch.

Horticultural Mineral Oil (HMO)
- Ensure proper training & pruning of trees before buds break.
- Ensure orchard sanitation — remove and burn mummified fruits and infected twigs.
- Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging.
- Spray urea @ 5% on orchard floor for decomposition of fallen leaves.
- Stake newly planted fruit trees.
Green Tip
हरी कली
First green tissue visible. Scab ascospores start releasing — spray before rain.

- Spray only before onset of rains for best results.
- Monitor plant growth — inspect roots if any tree fails to produce new leaves.
- Use Trichoderma harzianum on FYM for root rot-prone orchards.
Tight Cluster

Buds form tight cluster before bloom. Continue scab protection if rain is forecast.

Spore release peaks during rain. Expanding cluster is vulnerable. Spray before rain, not after.
Canker (watch)

Regularly inspect trunks and branches. Fresh lesions appear after winter — treat immediately.

Pink Bud

Buds show pink before petals open. Most important scab spray of the year.

Most susceptible stage. Expanding pink cluster is highly vulnerable. This spray is the most important of the year.
Powdery Mildew

White powdery growth on young leaves and flower buds. Warm dry days accelerate spread.
Blossom Thrips
फूल थ्रिप्स
Check: 2+ thrips per flower = spray threshold reached. Use Thiacloprid. Damages flower and reduces fruit set.

- If weather remains dry, spray fungicide when majority of buds reach pink stage — avoid flowering.
Flowering

Full bloom — avoid spraying to protect pollinators. Emergency fungicide only if rain after 10-day gap.

Spray only if 10+ day fungicidal gap exists AND heavy rain is forecast. Avoid spraying during full bloom.
Fire Blight (risk)

Warm wet weather during flowering can trigger Fire Blight. Monitor for wilting blossoms with shepherd crook symptom.

Petal Fall

Petals falling — most critical spray of Kashmir season. Mite population also explodes now.

Most critical spray of the Kashmir season. Wet falling petals harbor infection. Do not miss this spray under any condition.
Powdery Mildew

Rapid spread on young fruitlets and leaves post-petal fall. Use systemic fungicide for curative action.
Spider Mites

Mite population explodes post-petal fall. Check undersides of leaves for webbing and pale stippling.

- Spray basin area also while spraying for mites — improves control.
- तुरंत: Carbendazim 100 gm या Mancozeb 600 gm / 200 L छिड़कें।
- 3–4 दिन बाद: Boric acid 200 gm + Zinc Sulphate 500 gm + Quick lime 250 gm / 200 L।
- 10–12 दिन बाद: Agromin/Microvit 400–600 gm + Urea 1 Kg / 200 L।
