Green Tip

First green tissue emerges from buds. Primary scab infection window opens — protect before rain.
Apple Scab

Primary infection starts now. Spores released during rain. Leaves + fruit at risk. One missed spray → 70% crop loss.
Powdery Mildew

White powdery coating on young shoots. Prune off silvery terminals and destroy.
San Jose Scale

Overwinters under bark. Oil spray now is most effective to kill overwintering stages.

Horticultural Mineral Oil (HMO)
- Spray early morning 6–10 AM — low wind, cool temperature.
- Do not repeat the same chemical consecutively.
- Skip spray if heavy rain expected within 12 hours.
- In scab-prone areas keep 12–14 day interval between sprays.
Pink Bud

Buds show pink colour before petals open. Highest scab risk — apply protectant before first post-bloom rain.
Apple Scab

Highest risk window. Expanding leaves are most susceptible. Check for olive-green lesions on leaf undersides.
Powdery Mildew

White powdery patches on young shoots. Warm dry days + cool nights favor spread.
Core Rot

Fungus enters through open flowers. Fruit rots from inside. Invisible externally at first.
Blossom Thrips

Damages flower buds. Check if 2+ thrips per flower. Use Thiacloprid if threshold crossed.

- Apply Boron foliar spray 1–1.5 g/litre at this stage for better fruit set.
- Introduce 3–4 bee hives per hectare at 5–10% bloom for pollination.
- Do not spray Dodine above 30°C or in hard water areas.
- De-weed tree basins and mow orchard floor.
Petal Fall

Flowers have fallen, tiny fruitlets form. Most critical spray of the season — do not skip.
Apple Scab

Most critical spray window. Wet falling petals are highly susceptible. Missing this spray causes severe fruit scarring.
Powdery Mildew

Prune off silver terminals immediately. Warm dry spells accelerate spread on young growth.
Alternaria (Early)

Not yet a threat but conditions build. Use broad-spectrum fungicide to cover both Scab and Alternaria.
Spider Mites

Mite eggs hatch during petal fall. Use specific acaricide — fungicides do not control mites.

Caused by Alternaria complex. Reduces photosynthesis → smaller fruit, poor colour. Control Alternaria urgently.
Apple Blight

Water-soaked wilting of shoots. Spreads in warm, humid conditions. Remove and burn infected shoots.
Mites (2nd wave)

Second generation builds up rapidly. Check leaf undersides for pale stippling. Rotate acaricides to avoid resistance.

- Spray fallen leaf litter with 5% urea for fast decomposition — reduces scab inoculum.
- Do not mix micro-nutrients or hormones with pesticides.
- Drench basin 3–4 times with Carbendazim 0.1% for White Root Rot control.
- Minimum insecticidal sprays April–June — protect beneficial insects.

Dark circular lesions on fruit surface. Spreads rapidly post-monsoon. Remove and destroy infected fruit.

Third generation, especially post-monsoon onset. Rotate with different chemical class than Stage 4 spray.

Causes premature fruit drop, reduces mandi price significantly. Control urgently.

Tiny black specks on fruit surface. Cosmetic damage only but reduces market grade and price.
San Jose Scale

Red halos around feeding sites on fruit. Rejected at packhouse. One spray 20–25 days before harvest.

- Do not mix any chemical with hormones or micro-nutrients at this stage.
After Harvest

Post-harvest care and dormant sprays. Treat canker, root rot and clean up the orchard.

Sunken dark lesions on trunks and main branches. Remove infected wood and apply Bordeaux paint immediately.
White Root Rot

Trees suddenly collapse. White fungal threads under bark at root zone. No cure — prevent with Carbendazim drench.
Woolly Apple Aphid
ऊनी सेब माहू
White woolly colonies on roots, bark, and pruning wounds. Causes gall formation. Drench basin after harvest.
Collar Rot
कॉलर सड़न
Fungal rot at base of trunk. Scarify wounds and apply Bordeaux paint during winter dormancy.

Chlorpyriphos 20 EC
- Collect and compost fallen leaves — or spray 5% urea on floor for decomposition.
- Drench basin with Carbendazim 0.1% + Aureofungin 0.05% for White Root Rot.
- Expose root system of infected trees to sun during winter.
- Scarify wounds at collar region and apply Bordeaux paint for Collar Rot.
- Remove mummified fruits, infected twigs, and dead branches before dormancy.
- तुरंत: Carbendazim 100 gm या Mancozeb 600 gm / 200 L छिड़कें।
- 3–4 दिन बाद: Boric acid 200 gm + Zinc Sulphate 500 gm + Quick lime 250 gm / 200 L।
- 10–12 दिन बाद: Agromin/Microvit 400–600 gm + Urea 1 Kg / 200 L।
